Limited Edition White Kinect
71Let the Force be With You!
For the Star Wars fan who must have absolutely everything Star Wars-related, you have a reason to celebrate in this coming holiday.
That's if you don't already own Kinect - the controller-free motion gaming device that has shocked the world when it was released in 2010.
You knew this marriage of the Force and Xbox was going to happen and it has in a big way.
Microsoft has just unveiled a limited edition (white) Kinect Star Wars Bundle that will be modelled after the character R2-D2, with a wireless gold controller resembling his droid pal C-3PO.
Unfortunately, a full C-3PO outfit doesn't come with the bundle.

Star Wars-Themed Limited Edition White Kinect Bundle
Let’s start with the first thing anyone will notice: the exterior design that's reminiscent of 70’s-era Star Wars style. R2-D2 lends his signature blue-and-white look to the 360 unit itself; while C-3PO’s golden sheen rubs off on the wireless controller unit.
The package will also include an all-white Kinect sensor – a first for the 360, since the original device comes in black.
Another first for the 360 is the fact that this bundle’s unit boasts a whopping 320 gigabytes’ worth of storage! That will definitely perk up the ears of die-hard 360 fans that seem to not have enough space on their units for all their games.
And then there’s the pièce de résistance to the whole package – a copy of the forthcoming Star Wars Kinect game - along with the new Podracing Mode recently announced for the game.
Bring the Star Wars characters you know and love into your living room.
This game is the whole reason the limited edition bundle came to be in the first place. It takes players through all the major events of previous Star Wars films and games, from the Clone Wars era to the Rebellion era.
It’s all been done before, of course, but never with the motion capture capabilities of the Kinect. This is perhaps the single most alluring draw of Star Wars Kinect.
The feeling of controlling a light saber to cut down hordes of droids and battle Sith is something that a lot of Star Wars fans have dreamt of for a long time now – and this particular game will deliver just that when it is released this holiday season.
Oh, and piloting an X-Wing fighter across epic space battles and podracers through the dusty tracks of Tatooine will definitely have their own unique appeals to the dedicated fans.
But all this is just conjecture until the game is actually released. The game’s demo and the hardware included in the bundle look impressive enough, but it will take some hands-on experience to see if everything will live up to the massive hype surrounding it.
Still, Star Wars fans without an Xbox 360 or Kinect of their own, this is definitely one sweet-looking Kinect bundle you might want to splurge on
.
...especially for those who can't wait to become the Jedi with their trusted droids C-3PO and R2D2 alongside.
